E-BIKE the GORGE
E-biking in the Gorge is so much fun and becoming a favorite popular activity. E-bike sales are predicted to grow from 3.7 million bikes sold in 2019 to 17 million in 2030.
Think riding an e-bike is too easy? That is not true, you will still get a workout as your legs are pedaling and you have the option to choose a low or high setting. Exploring on an e-bike in the Gorge offers scenic beauty, waterfalls and incredible views.
A locals favorite e-bike ride is the Mark O. Hatfield Wilderness Area trail, also known as “Twin Tunnels Trail.” The 4.25 mile paved historic highway connecting Hood River to Mosier is closed to car traffic and, on an e-bike, its 1,000-foot elevation gain is a breeze. Another great car-free ride on the historic highway is the six-mile segment from Wyeth trailhead to Viento State Park offering sweeping views of the Gorge, and short hikes to three waterfalls. Take a guided tour or rent an e-bike and avoid the driving hassles.
